Every year, thousands of eagles congregate on the Harrison River to feast on the salmon swimming upstream to spawn. The eagles have to battle against hordes of gulls, attracted by the same thing, as do photographers trying to capture the eagles. The lighting on this particular day was bright sunshine that required some editing to darken the background and reduce the distracting reflection and glare on the water. Also, bright days make photographing Bald Eagles difficult as exposing for their dark body can mean overexposing the bright, white head, so editing was done to even out the exposure of the eagle.
